But why a former translator?
Now I explain it to you!
I started to love foreign languages in high school. I looked forward to the classes and with little difficulty, got good grades on English and German tests. So I decided to continue my language course by enrolling at the University of Linguistic Mediation, in Trento and later in the Master program in Translation and Interpretation in the University of Communication and Languages of Milan.
It goes without saying that during College I learned a lot of translation theory, along with practical exercises that were corrected and commented by my teachers.
I was born and raised in Trento and in the last few years of university living in Milan I received a few offers to earn some money working as a German-Italian and English-Italian translator with several translation agencies.
And here, I really understood how the REAL world of translations was completely different from the IDEAL described in the university.
Does it remind you of a generic phrase?
It is exactly like that.
I learned the hard way, how the vast majority of translation agencies with whom I cooperated took advantage of me and of all the translators.
By this, I mean that I have tried to translate scripts with impossible deadlines for a human being at starvation rates. Full working days, from 7am to 10pm in the evening, with short breaks to eat.
And for what?
Just to deliver on time the work at rates that THEY imposed me, only to be told:
Since you forgot a comma, we will not pay you.
Then I realized how these agencies could afford to make super-promotions to customers.

I never complained about too much work, God forbid, but not to those conditions. I felt a frustration inside me ready to explode if I had not made a decision.
What was the turning point?
I decided to open my own translation agency with the purpose of never, ever explore a former colleague.
I did not do everything alone; in fact, I would not have done anything without the help of my husband Mattia.

Now you will think why my wife Claudia and I have the same surname. Am I right?
No problem, you are not the only one to think that. I can assure you that we are not distant relatives in case you thought so.
I am the “front-man” of Glocal Agency, enthusiast of IT and marketing.
I am the one person you definitely speak; regardless of the means, you use to contact us (phone, email, website, chat). Claudia is the founder and mind; I am the co-founder and arms.
The site you are now in, for good and for evil, has been done by me, as well as any of our marketing activities.
Thanks to the computer structure I have put up here in the agency, I can simplify your life when it comes to exchanging texts or documents, even if you are unfamiliar with technology.

Have you ever thought how the words in a document are counted for then make a translation quote? As long as this is a Word, Excel or PDF file, this is relatively easy with integrated word counts.
But what happens in case of scanning a document or an image?
Almost all agencies do the counts by hand, so take this beautiful image and, after losing 10 or 15 minutes counting 1, 2, … 3 … 5 … 700 … 4221 words and then round up the total in a ROUGH AND DISADVANTAGEOUS WAY FOR THE CUSTOMER.
It would be a good thing if we were in the 80s, but today the text analysis tools are also evolved, you just need to pick one.
You can be sure that when you submit a text, our word count is very accurate thanks to these tools.
I am obsessed with fast response!
Why?
For the simple reason that every day I find myself having to contact several people, translators or suppliers in general, and I don’t like when they are late to answer me. My thoughts are this:
I am contacting you to give you some money, opportunity to earn, and you play hard to get? Answer me after days?
No! If I contact you I need you, and you need me, then we try to be as clear and fast as possible.
You will also experience this terrible situation – of a lack of response. You need something urgent and your only wish is to get it in the shortest possible time and you are in front of someone who does not listen to you, putting you at the bottom of their priorities with phrases such as “We are full of work, we will answer you as soon as possible” or “We will pass your request to the department that will contact you in the coming days.”
And in your mind, you say it out loud:
Are you talking about days? Your reply will be answered within a few minutes, at the most in a few tens of minutes
That is why I reply immediately to your requests, listen to you and find the best solution to your needs with you. I do not make you await in uncertainty, I will tell you right off the bat how we will handle the job you requested us to do.
